Kabuki Promotions

Kabuki Promotions has been on-the-go in Aberdeen since early 2004 under the fine supervision of Andy Stewart.

What is it?

Kabuki is derived from classical Japanese verb meaning "to incline" and carries the meaning of something eccentric or deviating from the norm. The three kanji characters (Japanese pictograms) translate as:

It is a traditional form of Japanese theatre dating from the 17th century and over the next 300 years developed into a sophisticated, highly stylized form of performance art that combines acting, dancing, and music in an extraordinary spectacle of form, color, and sound.

Kabuki Presents

Listings

Kabuki Presents functions as the showcase event linking the Belmont, Gairneg, Darsan and Resonance into one evening of music.

At the Kabuki Presents nights expect to see a mix of the best of the local scene combined with touring acts from around the country.

Primarily Kabuki Presents is to be found twice a month in Cafe Drummonds, but has and will set up shop in other venues around the country.
